At the moment, I can remember nothing about this series. I do know, not that anyone will care, that the last episode was called 'Breaking Point'. More importantly, it was also the last to feature Sandi Toksvig - aaaahhh.

To make up for this lack of info, I've included this ultra-rare shot of No. 73 being recorded (left), which I'm reliably informed comes from this series. Note the skilful use of a painted backdrop to give the illusion of a charming, peaceful neighbourhood, which incidentally bears little resemblance to the real Maidstone, which is grim.

• As this series started, Sandi Toksvig could also be seen in Ben Elton's elaborate comedy drama Happy Families.
• Series 5 ended with the familiar 'See You in February' notice - but the show actually returned in January!!!
• This was probably to facilitate the switch to broadcasting No. 73 in the winter rather than the summer. For the same reason, this series was much shorter than usual.
